THE YAVUZ SULTAN SELIM BRIDGE
(THIRD BOSPHORUS BRIDGE)
The mega project of Istanbul The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge opened in 26th August 2016. The bridge is located to the north of the Bosphorus Strait, just before the Black Sea. Now Asian and European sides of the Bosphorus are connected for the third time.
The bridge of firsts , the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge is the widest suspension bridge in the world. Spanning the northern part of the Bosphorus, the bridge is 4,620 feet (1408 m) long, with a width of 192 feet (58.5 m) and a height of 1,056 feet (322 m)
All trucks and heavy-duty vehicles will be directed to the bridge to ease traffic on the other bridges, as well as cut congestion and pollution in Istanbul.
